Product Description
The 16×2 LCD Display with I2C Interface – Yellow-Green Backlight is a compact alphanumeric display module designed for displaying text, numbers, sensor readings, system status, menus, and other information in microcontroller and embedded electronics projects.
The module provides 16 characters per line across 2 lines and features a bright yellow-green backlight with dark characters, providing clear visibility for indoor electronics, instrumentation, automation systems, educational projects, and general-purpose display applications.
A pre-soldered PCF8574-based I2C interface backpack is included on the rear of the display. This converts the LCD’s standard parallel interface into an I2C communication interface, reducing the required connections to only VCC, GND, SDA, and SCL. This significantly reduces GPIO usage compared with directly connecting a standard 16×2 LCD.
The module also includes an onboard contrast adjustment potentiometer, allowing the character contrast to be adjusted according to lighting and viewing conditions. A backlight control circuit is generally provided through the I2C backpack.
Common I2C addresses for these modules are 0x27 and 0x3F, although the actual address may vary depending on the PCF8574 variant and module manufacturer. An I2C scanner program can be used to determine the installed module’s actual address.
The display is widely used with Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, development boards, embedded controllers, sensors, automation systems, robotics, and DIY electronics projects.

Product Disclaimer
- This 16×2 LCD module is intended for general-purpose display, educational, embedded electronics, automation, and development applications.
- The actual I2C address may vary depending on the installed PCF8574 interface IC, manufacturer, or production batch. Common addresses are 0x27 and 0x3F.
- Use an I2C scanner program if the module does not respond at the expected I2C address.
- Display contrast should be adjusted using the onboard potentiometer if characters are faint, invisible, or only dark blocks appear on the screen.
- The module is typically designed for 5V operation. Always verify the voltage requirements of the specific module before connecting power.
- When using the module with 3.3V controllers such as certain ESP32 or Raspberry Pi configurations, verify I2C logic-level compatibility before connection.
- Product specifications, I2C backpack IC, PCB layout, component placement, backlight shade, and appearance may vary slightly between manufacturers and production batches.
- Product images are for reference purposes and the actual product may differ slightly in color or component layout.
- Always verify the VCC, GND, SDA, and SCL pin labels before connecting the module to a microcontroller.
- Incorrect supply voltage, reversed polarity, or improper wiring may damage the LCD module or connected controller.
